Intro

A picture of me at my computer!

Hey there! I'm Michael McNiel and I'm currently a C# developer at TIME Manufacturing in Waco, TX. I also am a student at TSTC Waco working towards my Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Programming Technology.

I've been programming professionally and as a hobby for a combined total of 5 years. I've always wanted to become a software developer since middle school and, years later, I've decided to pursue my dream and work towards what I've always wanted to do.

I'm a former Airman in the US Air Force and I love to mess with anything tech related. I also like to edit videos in my free time using Adobe Premiere Pro and make YouTube videos either for myself or others. On top of that, I love to play games that inspired me to gain an interest in programming in the first place like Halo 3, Star Wars: KOTOR, and Deus Ex.

Projects

Here is a list of some of my favorite projects I've done. Take a look at them individually or you can view them all by going to my GitHub page directly!

WheatFree

WheatFree is a gluten-free, mealkit delivery service similar to other mealkit delivery services such as HelloFresh and EveryPlate. This project includes full CRUD functionality. Some include creating new customer orders in a SQLite database, viewing inventory items and their quantities, editing existing recipes for customers to order, and removing items that are no longer being delivered.

Rocky Space

Rocky Space is an asteroids-like game built in MonoGame, a framework for C#. This game was built from scratch without assistance from a typical game engine such as Unity or Unreal Engine. The physics and environment window was created from scratch as well and not handled by premade assets.

ActiveWear Shirt Designer

The ActiveWear Shirt Designer is a shirt designer page meant to be placed in a pre-existing website as a new feature. The designer has different logos to choose from as well as a color picker to customize your shirt further. It also handles user orders and gathers required information from the customer.
